Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.
We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). All funds raised for CMNH stay in the local community, benefiting patient care, new equipment, and research on children’s diseases, illnesses, and injuries. Our members are passionate about CMNH because Kids Can't Wait!
Last semester, we raised an incredible $18,572, setting a new record for the Delta Alpha Chapter! We hold two signature philanthropy events each year: Cheesin for Children in the fall and Milkshakes for Miracles in the spring. Our local CMNH hospital is Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where our efforts make a significant impact.
Our sisters are so dedicated that they also fundraise through Phi Mu and IU Dance Marathon. Additionally, the Phi Mu Foundation uniquely supports our members through scholarships, awards, and grants.
Beyond our work with CMNH, we collaborate with numerous local Bloomington organizations, including Pantry 279, Hoosier Hills, Buskirk Chumley Theater, Habitat for Humanity, and the Bloomington Animal Shelter. Together, we are making a difference in our community!
